Odyssey Blower Motor Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Odyssey hybrid is experiencing blower motor failure, suspected to be linked to a faulty AUC sensor, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a malfunctioning cabin air sensor, which unexpectedly affected both the auto recirculation and blower motor functions. A comprehensive diagnostic evaluation is recommended to isolate the problem, and replacing the sensor resolved the issue.

Thank you for your response. To clarify, are you suggesting that a faulty odor sensor could directly inhibit the blower motor's operation? I was under the impression that it primarily influenced the auto-recirculation feature, not the entire climate control system.

Yes, in my case, a malfunctioning cabin air sensor was indeed the culprit behind both the auto recirculation issue and, unexpectedly, the blower motor's failure. While seemingly unrelated, the system logic appears to tie them together. A diagnostic check should hopefully isolate the problem.

Understood. Thank you for the clarification regarding the sensor's interconnected functionality. I shall proceed with a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and, if necessary, replace the sensor. After sensor replacement, the problem was solved with a cost of 95€. Your guidance has been most appreciated.

I believe I recall a similar situation with my Odyssey. Does the auto recirculation function also seem impaired? I’m thinking it might be the odor sensor. Have you checked the HVAC sensor’s readings via the diagnostic interface? It might give you some clues before you start tearing things apart.
