Odyssey rain light sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Honda Odyssey Hybrid is experiencing issues with the rain-light sensor, leading to an error message, non-functional automatic wipers, auto headlights, and speedometer dimming, although the lights themselves still work. The problem is identified as bubbles forming under the gel pad of the sensor, causing it to malfunction. The suggested solution is to have the gel pad replaced, with a dealer quoting a repair cost of 62€.

Thanks! I'm not entirely sure where to find the rain sensor. Can you point me in the right direction?

Usually it's behind the rearview mirror, stuck to the windshield. On my Volvo, the dealer said bubbles formed under the gel pad and messed everything up. They wanted a fortune to fix it, but I found an independent shop. I'd take it in; messing with sensors can be a real pain.

Thanks for the advice! It looks like the gel pad is the problem. The dealer confirmed bubbles and quoted 62€ for the repair. I'll go ahead with that.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! Had a similar freak-out with my old Volvo V60. The rain sensor went haywire, causing all sorts of weird electrical gremlins. Did you check for any condensation or weird buildup on the sensor itself?
