Odyssey Turbo System Issue

I've got a 2022 Honda Odyssey hybrid with almost 230k km. Check engine light is on, and the van feels sluggish with poor engine response, sometimes stalling. I've noticed a whistling noise and a loud hissing sound when accelerating, plus my fuel consumption has gone up. I suspect it's related to the turbo system. Has anyone experienced similar issues? Could a defective electrical bypass valve be the culprit?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Honda Odyssey hybrid exhibited issues such as a check engine light, sluggish performance, stalling, increased fuel consumption, and unusual noises, suspected to be related to the turbo system. The problem was identified as a boost pressure actuator fault, potentially involving a defective electrical bypass valve. A professional inspection confirmed the issue, and replacing the faulty valve resolved the problem, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Sounds like a boost pressure actuator fault. That whistling and hissing combined with the power loss is a classic symptom. Have you checked the turbo actuator or any of the pressure sensors? Could be a boost control issue. Has there been any recent work done on the turbocharger?

I haven't touched anything myself. Where exactly is the turbo actuator located? Is it something I can visually inspect for damage, or is it better left to the pros?

It's best to let a professional handle it. Given the symptoms, especially the stalling, it points to a more serious issue. The turbo actuator is buried pretty deep and requires specific tools and knowledge. You could end up causing more damage trying to DIY. It's almost certainly an electrical bypass valve defective. Take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you nailed it. They confirmed the boost pressure actuator fault and replaced the defective electrical bypass valve. Cost me 250€, but the van is running perfectly again.
