Oil level sensor error

My 1999 Renault Spider (gasoline engine) dashboard is lighting up. I get an error about the oil level sensor, also stored in the error memory. The oil pressure warning lamp comes on sometimes. I've checked the oil level, and it seems fine, so I'm guessing it's a dodgy sensor. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had something similar on my Spider. Suspect the cable or plug connection to the sensor itself. Give them a wiggle and see if it changes anything.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that cable/plug located? I'm not exactly a mechanic, so a bit more detail would be amazing. Is it easy to get to?

It's on the engine block, near the oil filter. Should be a single wire connector. If wiggling doesn't fix it, you'll probably need a workshop to diagnose it properly. No biggie, though.

Thanks so much! I wiggled the connector like you said and no luck, the error kept coming back. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – it was a faulty connection to the oil level sensor. Cost me 95€ to sort out. Cheers for the help!
