Oil pressure warning light

My 2013 Peugeot 2008 with a gasoline engine is acting up. The oil pressure light and a speedometer warning light are on. Diagnostics say it's the engine oil temperature sensor. I'm guessing a bad cable or plug. Has anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar! I have a Peugeot 2008 too. I'm no expert, but a temperature sensor is basically a resistor that changes resistance with temperature. The car's computer translates that resistance into a temperature reading. If the reading is off, it could trigger warnings. Have you checked the sensor itself for damage or corrosion?

Thanks! Corrosion makes sense, given the symptoms. Where is the oil temperature sensor located? And is it easy to reach?

I had the same oil pressure warning and engine light on my 2008. After a workshop visit, it was the oil temperature sensor. The mechanic said the connector was corroded, causing a bad reading. I suggest a workshop to have it checked.

Thanks! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right! It was the oil temperature sensor and a corroded connection. Cost 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!
