Onix central locking malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevrolet Onix is experiencing a central locking malfunction, with both the key fob and internal button failing to operate the system. The diagnostic tool indicates a generic 'Central Locking System Malfunction' error, and the fuses have been checked and found to be fine. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded plug connection in the door, suggesting that the problem might be related to a cable or plug issue. It is recommended to take the car to a workshop for further diagnosis and repair.

The error message isn't specific, just 'Central Locking System Malfunction'. What was the fix for your Megane? Was it complicated?

That's the same vague error I got. It ended up being a corroded plug connection in the door. I gave up and took it to a shop since I didn't have the tools to test the cables. Given the error and symptoms, it's likely a cable or plug issue. I would take it to a workshop.

Thanks for sharing! I suspected something like that. I'll take it to a workshop. A local mechanic quoted 95€ for diagnosis and repair, which seems reasonable. Hopefully, it's a simple connection issue.

I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane. The central locking just died. Fuses were fine. I'm betting it's a dodgy connection. Is the error message specific, or just a generic central locking fault?
