Onix oxygen sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Chevrolet Onix is experiencing a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with an error indicating an oxygen sensor issue. The problem may be due to a defective cable or plug connection. Cleaning the contacts with electrical contact cleaner is suggested as a temporary solution, but if the issue persists, replacing the aged and potentially faulty sensor might be necessary.

When you say 'contacts', do you mean inside the connector itself? Did you use electrical contact cleaner, or just a dry cloth?

Yeah, inside the connector. I used electrical contact cleaner. It helped for a while, but the light eventually came back on. Turned out the sensor was aged and faulty. Try cleaning it, but if the light returns you may have to replace the sensor. The workshop charged me 95€.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'll try cleaning the contacts first, but I'm prepared to replace the sensor if needed. At least now I have a better idea of what to expect.

I had a similar problem with my Onix, also related to the oxygen sensor and the check engine light.
