Onix starting issues
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Chevrolet Onix with a 1.0 gasoline engine experienced starting issues, occasional stalling, and rough running. Initial checks of battery connections and ignition key manipulation did not resolve the problem. The symptoms, including a flickering dashboard light, suggested a faulty ignition switch rather than a defective fuse. After professional diagnosis, the ignition switch was confirmed as the issue and was repaired, resolving the problem.

The dashboard light does flicker sometimes when it stalls. I haven't checked the ignition coil or starter motor relay, as I'm not entirely sure where to locate them on this model. Is there a specific fuse that usually handles the ignition switch, or would that be a different circuit?

The flickering dashboard light points to the ignition switch. While a fuse could be the culprit, a failing switch is more likely given the symptoms. Best to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop. Could save you from unnecessary parts replacements.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local shop, and it was indeed the ignition switch. Total repair cost was 52€. Really appreciate the help!

Sounds like a dodgy ignition switch, though rough running is less typical. Does the dashboard light flicker or go out when it stalls? Have you checked the ignition coil or starter motor relay?
