Onix Transport Mode Active

My 2018 Chevrolet Onix gasoline, 208733 km mileage, instrument panel says "Transport mode active". General electrical malfunction and navigation system are also non-functional. I recently got the car, so I suspect this might be why. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Chevrolet Onix displays "Transport mode active" on the instrument panel, indicating a general electrical malfunction and non-functional navigation system. This mode is typically used during shipping to conserve battery and may not have been deactivated after purchase. The solution involves performing a diagnostic check using an OBD II scanner to reset the car's configuration, likely requiring a visit to a workshop with the necessary tools and software expertise.

I had something similar with my 2019 Renault Megane, but the symptoms were a bit different. "Transport mode" is used when shipping cars to save battery. It disables some features. Did you just buy the car, or has it been sitting around? It sounds like the car thinks it's still in transport mode. Has anyone tried a diagnostic check to reset the car configuration?

Thanks! I did just get it. I don't know much about car configuration. What does the diagnostic check involve? Can I do it myself, or do I need special equipment?

The recent purchase makes that likely the problem. A diagnostic check means plugging an OBD II scanner into the car's port. Some basic scanners can read and clear simple error codes, but to reset transport mode, you'll probably need a more advanced scanner to change the car's software settings. For your Onix and this issue, I'd take it to a workshop. They have the right tools and software to access the car's computer. They might need to perform a software refresh, and they'll know how to do it right.

Thanks for the explanation and advice. Looks like a workshop visit is needed. I appreciate you clarifying things.
