(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The issue revolves around an Opel Mokka 2015 model experiencing various warning signals including an ABS warning light, unresponsive brake pedal, malfunctioning ABS/DSC system, and a non-working brake light. The owner suspects the brake pedal position sensor might be the cause. One respondent shared a similar experience with their Opel Astra, where the ECU was the problem and needed replacement. Another respondent suggested the problems could be due to a broken ABS control module, a faulty wheel speed sensor, or brake pedal brake sensor, and recommended a diagnostic check.

Hey buddy, you've been hit pretty hard! Your problem actually sounds similar to Person2. Can you remember how much the whole thing cost you after the control unit was replaced? And have you had similar problems since then? Thank you and best regards!

Moin Moin, remember, I don't drive exactly the same sled as you, but the cost of repairing the control unit has already saved me around €1000. However, since the mechanic repaired the brake pedal position sensor without function, I've been running perfectly. No further problems since then. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you've got this behind you and your Mokka is back in good shape. Greetings!

Hi guys, thanks for your answers! I already thought it might be the control unit. It's really great that you're sharing your experiences with me. 1000€ isn't exactly a bargain, but if everything works perfectly again afterwards, I almost don't care about the price. I will definitely go to my mechanic and have everything checked. Thanks again and have a nice day! Greetings!

Good day, from my understanding the problems with your Opel Mokka’s ABS warning light, unresponsive brake pedal and brake light malfunction, could be caused by a broken ABS control module, a broken/faulty wheel speed sensor or brake pedal brake sensor. I would firstly do a diagnostic check and if you are not satisfied, I would get a second opinion on the matter. Good luck!

Hello, I drive a 2017 Opel Mokka 1.4 turbo. The problem is a message in the display: "Vehicle urgently needs service." This is not the case. Also, the cruise control has failed. When reading out the error, it showed a brake pedal sensor error. After replacing this sensor, everything was ok. 3 months later, the same problem again, the brake pedal sensor. Does anyone have experience with this? I would like to hear it. Thanks

It sounds like the brake pedal sensor might be failing prematurely or there could be an underlying issue causing it to malfunction. I recommend checking the wiring and connections to the sensor for any signs of damage or corrosion, as these can lead to intermittent faults. If the wiring looks good, it might be worth considering if there are any environmental factors, like moisture, that could be affecting the sensor. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hi mate, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Opel Astra and that nasty control unit fault message ruined my day. In fact, your suspicion with the brake pedal position sensor could be correct. For me the fault was ultimately with the ECU, it was causing all these problems, in addition to some misfiring. Once the car mechanic realized this, the ECU had to be replaced. Yes, it was a serious problem. But don't worry, after the ECU was replaced, my Astra started working smoothly again. Hope this helps you and good luck!
