Thanks for the quick reply! I suspected the battery might be the culprit. How did you figure out it was the battery, and did you try anything else before replacing it?

For me it was the same symptoms. First I checked the fuse, but it was ok. Then I went to the workshop and they found the discharged battery was the problem. I would recommend doing the same.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was indeed the battery. Replaced it, and the rear window heating is working perfectly again. Cost me about 290€ for the battery and labor.

I had a similar problem with my Optra. The rear window heating, also sometimes called a thermal window, uses small heating coils to defrost the window. When the battery is heavily discharged or defective, the window heater might fail. Have you checked your battery?
