Optra Start Stop System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Chevrolet Optra with 79,799 km experienced start-stop system failure, unexpected engine shutdowns, and a warning light. The issue was suspected to be related to a discharged or faulty battery. It was suggested to check the battery's voltage and consider its age, as the start-stop system is sensitive to battery health. After a professional battery test confirmed the battery was defective, replacing it resolved the problem.

Thanks. I haven't checked the voltage yet, but I will. The battery is original. If the voltage seems normal, what else could cause this start-stop malfunction?

Even if the voltage seems normal, the original battery might be nearing its end and unable to hold a charge well. The start-stop system is very sensitive to battery health. I'd suggest a workshop visit for a professional battery test under load to rule it out before looking at other things like the starter motor.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the battery was heavily discharged and defective. Replacing it fixed the problem. Final repair cost: 290€ Thank you!

I had a similar issue with my Optra. The start-stop system relies heavily on the battery's charge. It shuts off the engine when the car is stationary to save fuel. When the battery's charge is low, the system often disables itself to ensure enough power to restart. Have you checked the battery's voltage? How old is your battery?
