I've visually inspected the antenna connection, and it looks secure, with no apparent corrosion. I haven't specifically tested the antenna ground. Could you explain how to test the antenna ground, and what's an acceptable resistance value?

Testing grounds can be a pain. Without proper tools, it's tough to get a reliable reading. Based on your description - error messages AND no audio - it really sounds like a faulty antenna, or maybe a loose connection further down the wiring harness. But I would say it is best to leave it to the shop to check it, especially with those error messages. Save yourself the headache! If it is the antenna, it wont be too expensive to replace anyway.

Based on your recommendation and the complexity of testing the antenna ground, I took the car to a workshop. It was a defective antenna, as suspected. The total repair cost, including parts and labor, was 255€.

Electrical gremlins are the WORST! I had a similar issue on my old Vectra. I was convinced it was the head unit. Have you checked the antenna connection? Sometimes they can get loose or corroded, especially the antenna ground. That can cause signal problems and throw weird errors. Is the static noise constant, or does it come and go?
