Otti cruise control failure

My 2008 Nissan Otti with a gasoline engine has a weird issue. The cruise control just quit working! I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and cruise control is totally dead. I'm guessing it's a faulty system but where do I even start? Anyone else experienced this?

Cruise control malfunction, huh? Error in the speedometer and cruise control not working does sound like a cable or connection issue. Did you check the fuse box? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause the cruise control to fail. Is the error message consistently appearing, or is it intermittent?

I did check the fuse box, all the fuses seemed okay... but I could check again, I guess. The error message is always there now. Any chance it's something with the steering wheel controls themselves?

Possible, but less likely if you're seeing a consistent error message. Given that, and considering the age of the car and mileage (220516 km!), a defective cable or plug connection sounds probable. You mentioned an error stored in memory, right? Best to get a proper diagnostic done at a workshop to pinpoint the exact location of the defect.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was a defective cable connection. Cost me 95€ to repair. Annoying, but at least it's fixed!
