Otti radio reception error
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Nissan Otti experienced a radio reception issue, displaying an 'Error' message on the infotainment screen and no audio output. The problem was suspected to be related to the antenna, as indicated by the car's error memory. A similar issue was reported by another owner, suggesting checking the antenna cable connection to the head unit. Ultimately, the solution involved replacing the defective antenna, which resolved the reception problem.

The error is constant now, it started intermittently though, like you said. I haven't checked the antenna cable connection to the head unit. Is that easy to access? I'm not super familiar with car electronics, but I can usually manage basic stuff.

Accessing the head unit varies, but it's usually not too difficult. However, given that the problem is constant now and you're getting error codes, it might be best to take it to a workshop. Intermittent issues can sometimes be a loose connection, but constant errors often mean a component failure. I ended up going to a shop, and they told me that the antenna was broken. Apparently, this is a common problem with the Otti and other vehicles with roof antennas. Better let them handle it before you break anything.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were right, it was the antenna. They replaced it, and now the radio works perfectly again. Total cost was 255€.

I had a similar problem with my Nissan Otti. Is the 'Error' message always there, or does it come and go? With me, it was intermittent at first, then got progressively worse. Have you checked the connection of the antenna cable to the head unit (the radio itself)?
