Hey, thanks for your reply! It's a bit reassuring to know that I'm not the only one who's had to experience something like this. Do you happen to remember how much it cost you to replace the water pump? And has anything else come up with your Golf since you fixed that? Thanks again for your feedback and your time!

Hey, that's what we're here for, to help each other, right? Well, the cost of repairing the water pump was a bit higher at almost €600, I can't remember exactly. Since then, my Golf has been running without any further problems. All the best, buddy!

Overheating can be caused by several issues such as a faulty thermostat, a leak in the cooling system, a blocked radiator, or a failing water pump. Start by checking the coolant level when the engine is cold. If it's low, fill it up and monitor if it drops again, which would indicate a leak. If the coolant level is fine, it might be best to have a mechanic inspect the other components I mentioned. Remember, overheating can lead to serious engine damage, so it's important to address this issue promptly.

DTC 16502, Polo 9N year 2005, 63 HP, 3-door MIL is illuminated constantly, engine shuts off immediately after starting, after 2 attempts it then runs. Previously, I believe, the fuel pump primed directly after unlocking. At least that's the sound it made. It's not doing that at the moment. Regards Wolfgang

Start by checking the fuel pump relay and fuse to ensure they are functioning properly. A faulty relay or blown fuse could prevent the fuel pump from priming. If these components are fine, it might be worth inspecting the fuel pump itself. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hey, I recently had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Golf. The crux of the matter was the water pump, which was unfortunately broken. In the end, it had to be completely replaced. Did your indicator light come on all the time and did your car overheat quickly? I had exactly the same thing before my visit to the garage. I was lucky that it stayed that way and no major engine damage was to be feared. Definitely get it checked out, man. And thanks for asking about garages, but I only know my own backyard, so that's all I can say. Good luck that it's something more harmless!
