Overheating and air conditioning problems with the 2019 Ford Focus - Possible causes and solutions?

Hey guys, my 2019 Ford Focus with gasoline engine is acting up, anyone have any idea about cars here? It's overheating and the air conditioning isn't working. I suspect it might be the engine fan speed sensor but not sure. Has anyone had similar experiences and know how it was fixed at the garage? I would appreciate any tips and experiences.

Hi, that sounds familiar. I had something similar with my 2017 Ford Fiesta, which is more or less the same series. To be honest, I'm not a professional, but I know my way around a bit. I also had to go to the garage and nonsense, it wasn't the speed sensor that was faulty, but the control unit. It cost me around 1000 euros, but since then the car has been running smoothly again. What engine do you have? Have you recently had it serviced? With this information, I might be able to help you better.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! My machine has a 1.5L EcoBoost engine. I did the last check at 131253 km, looks like I'll probably have to go to the garage too. Hope it's not the control unit, oh well... Life is not a pony farm. Thanks for the help!

Hello again! Sure, no problem, gladly again. I've never had any experience with a 1.5L EcoBoost. But regardless of the engine, you should take a closer look at the coolant, the thermostat and the air conditioning compressor if you have overheating problems. But if you're already at a sensitive 131k km, it might not be a bad idea to take it to the garage and have it checked properly. It could also be that there's a problem hidden somewhere else or that it just needs a thorough service. Either way, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious! Oh, and by the way, your last sentence really made me laugh - life is not a pony farm, word! Take care and let us know how it goes. Have a good trip!

Hey thanks again for the tips! It probably won't work without a workshop... I'll definitely have the thermostat and air conditioning compressor checked. And hopefully it's just a service or something minor. Unpleasant topic... But as you say: "Life is not a pony farm." It's good to know that I'm not alone with my car problems! I'll let you know what the garage comes up with. Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed and for the laugh! Take care of yourself too! See you then.
