Hey, thanks for your reply! Your experience sounds very similar to my current problems. Can you remember what the repair ended up costing you? Any other problems since then or did the repair actually fix the whole thing?

Hey, of course I can! Back at the workshop, it cost €95 to mend the cable on the pump and the control unit. So it wasn't too bad, at least for my wallet. And yes, since then my Merc has been back on the straight and narrow, no further problems. The issue with the overheating malfunction of the electric coolant pump is a thing of the past. So the thing has clearly had an effect!

Oh thank you, that's really reassuring to hear! I was super worried that it was something super expensive. 95 really sounds pretty reasonable. I'm going to get my mechanic to check the pump cables and the control unit now. Hopefully that's my problem. Thanks again for your help!

Hi, I drive a 2013 Mercedes C-Class and once had a similar problem. In my case, the cable on the pump and the control unit was defective. It's really annoying when the check engine light is constantly on, I know that. My car was frequently overheating and after diagnosis at the service center it turned out that this was the fault. They had to replace the cable and the control unit to fix the overheating problem. After the repair, the problem stopped. It was no small thing, but now everything is running smoothly again. Hope this helps you!
