Hey, thanks for the info. You say you had the same problem with your Passat. Do you happen to remember how much the repair cost? And have you had any other problems since then? It seems to be a really annoying affair... Didn't think my Golf would be affected!

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for! The malfunction of the electric coolant pump on my Passat was completely fixed after I went to the garage. The cost of repairing the faulty pump was a somewhat painful €565, but since then everything has been running tip-top again! No more problems and the overheating is a thing of the past. Hope this helps you and your Golf will soon be fit again!

Wow, that's quite a lot of money... But thanks for the advice and the candor. I'll probably take my Golf to the garage as soon as possible. I definitely want to be spared any further damage. Hopefully it turns out to be less costly than I now fear. Thanks for the support here guys, really appreciated!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2017 Passat until recently. The check engine light was on for me too, overheating occasionally, really annoying. On my last trip to the garage, they found that the coolant pump had given up the ghost. I don't know why it failed, but it had to be completely replaced. I was very lucky that there was no further damage to the engine. You should definitely get your Golf checked out before it gets worse. It's no fun, believe me.
