Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! You've given me some hope that my CT200h's rally cross days will soon be behind it. Out of curiosity, do you recall roughly how much the speed sensor replacement and the A/C recalibration set you back? And since the fix, has your IS 250 given you any more sass or has it been smooth sailing?
Hey, happy to help! I remember shelling out around 250€ for the speed sensor repair job. Not exactly pocket change, but the car's been running like a dream since then. No more overheating, no more complaints from the A/C - it's been bliss. So, in my book, it was money well spent. Your CT200h should be back to its breezy self once you get that speed sensor sorted! Just think of it as the car's way of asking for a little TLC.
Thanks for the reassurance and the transparency about the cost. I’m definitely bracing myself for a hit to the wallet, but if it means my CT200h running smoothly again, then I reckon it's worth every cent. Thanks to your valuable advice, I am going to book an appointment with the mechanic. Fingers crossed it would be a peaceful visit this time! A little TLC doesn't hurt a soul, does it? Even if the soul is one of a car. Cheers!
Hey there, sounds like we’d something similar on my hands a while back with my 2013 Lexus IS 250. Turns out it was indeed a faulty speed sensor messing things up. The overheating issue was a no-brainer once they pinpointed the sensor problem. No major hassle though, mainly just caused discomfort on the road. Lads at the garage had to replace the speed sensor and even recalibrated the A/C system to fix that issue. Thankfully, once the sensor was replaced, the car stopped behaving like it was on a desert safari. Recalibration of the A/C was more of a secondary effect, tied to the sensor issue. So don't worry! Your CT200h will cool its heels soon enough!
