Oxygen Sensor Heater Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Honda Odyssey hybrid exhibited a check engine light (CEL) with an error code indicating an oxygen sensor heater failure, leading to decreased fuel efficiency. The issue was suspected to be a faulty connection. After a professional evaluation, it was confirmed that a defective connector on the oxygen sensor was the cause, which was then repaired.

Unusual air-fuel ratio, eh? How would I even check that without some fancy equipment? The check engine light is constantly on now. Is this a common thing then?

Given the persistent check engine light, and the need for specialized diagnostic tools to accurately assess the air-fuel ratio and oxygen sensor functionality, I strongly suggest a visit to a reputable workshop. While a defective cable or plug connection is indeed a likely cause, a professional evaluation will ascertain the full extent of the issue before proceeding with any repairs.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a faulty connector on the O2 sensor. 95€ later, all sorted!

Greetings. I own an Odyssey as well, though a different year. Your described symptoms do sound rather familiar. Have you observed any unusual behavior from the air-fuel ratio readings? Has the malfunction indicator illuminated consistently, or intermittently? The oxygen sensor plays a vital role in vehicle emissions, so heater failure is not to be taken lightly.
