Palio central locking failure
Summary of the thread
The central locking system on a 2015 Fiat Palio diesel stopped working, with neither the fob nor the switch functioning. A mechanic suggested the issue might be due to a faulty door contact signal, possibly caused by a bad cable or plug. Another person with a similar experience recommended checking the wiring harness between the door and car body, as wires can break over time, and also suggested inspecting the door sensor and fuse. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a broken wire in the harness, which was repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say wiring harness, do you mean inside the door or connecting the door to the car? And where's the door sensor located? I want to check before going to a mechanic.

I meant the harness between the door and body, in the rubber boot. The door sensor is part of the door latch, so it’s not easy to see. If you don't like tracing wires, take it to a shop. I did, and it saved me trouble.

Understood. I'll book an appointment. Turns out it was a broken wire in the harness, like you said. The repair was 95€ Thanks again!

I had a similar problem with my Palio's automatic locks. Check the wiring harness between the door and the car body. The wires can break over time. Also, check the door sensor. And have you checked the fuse?
