Palio diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Palio diesel is experiencing a warning light, reduced power, smoke on acceleration, and a strong odor, suspected to be due to low diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure. The issue is likely caused by a defective exhaust back pressure sensor. The suggested solution is to have the sensor diagnosed and replaced by a workshop, which successfully resolved the problem in this case.

Yes, I've visually inspected the sensor and the wiring looks okay. I don't have the equipment to test the sensor output directly. Did you have any luck with cleaning the particulate filter?

Cleaning didn't help. It was the sensor in the end. Honestly, I'd take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly.

The workshop confirmed the defective exhaust back pressure sensor. The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to 245€. Appreciate the shared experience!

I had something similar with my Palio. Same symptoms. Have you checked the sensor?
