Palio Exhaust Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Fiat Palio diesel exhibited issues with the check engine light, low power, and high fuel consumption, with error codes indicating a problem with the exhaust temperature sensor. The erratic temperature readings suggested a faulty sensor, and further inspection revealed a small crack in the exhaust manifold. The solution involved replacing the sensor and welding the manifold, resolving the performance issues.

The temperature is erratic, jumping all over. The harness looks okay at first glance, but I'll inspect it more closely. Was the sensor the problem for you, or something else?

Yes, it turned out to be the sensor itself. The fluctuations were similar to what you're describing. I'd still recommend a thorough check, but be prepared to replace the sensor. It's a bit tricky, and you might need a workshop.

That confirms my suspicions. I took it to the workshop, and you were right – faulty exhaust temp sensor and a small crack in the exhaust manifold. The sensor replacement and a quick weld cost me 265€. It runs great now.

I had a similar issue with my Palio some time ago. Is the temperature reading fluctuating a lot, or is it stuck at a specific value? It could be a faulty sensor, but also inspect the wiring harness connected to it.
