Palio Poor Start Error Code
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Palio with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor starting and displays an error code related to 'Terminal 30 continuous plus interrupted.' The issue is suspected to be a serious voltage drop, potentially due to battery problems, a charging system fault, or a short circuit. After checking the battery connections and attempting to jump-start the car, it was suggested to measure the voltage during cranking. The problem was ultimately diagnosed as a heavily discharged or defective battery, which was resolved by replacing it.

Good shout! I haven't put a meter on it while cranking, just static. So, if it nose-dives during cranking, what's the likely culprit, in your experience? Is it really just the battery, or could a faulty alternator be hiding the problem?

In my case, it was the battery itself. Even though it seemed okay at rest, it couldn't deliver enough current when starting. A heavy load test confirmed it. However, don't rule out a parasitic drain. If the battery checks out, you might need someone to trace the electrical system. Honestly, you're probably best off letting a workshop diagnose it properly before throwing parts at it.

Much appreciated! I took your advice and went to a workshop and they said it was the battery heavily discharged or defective. Replaced the battery and boom, it works. They said it had internal issues, so the replacement cost was 290€. Thanks for the pointers!

I had a similar problem with my Palio. Same symptoms, the car just wouldn't crank properly. Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals when you try to start it? What does it drop to? It sounds like maybe the battery isn't holding charge, or perhaps something is draining it when the car is off.
