Palio rough idle engine mount issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Fiat Palio diesel with 220,000 km is experiencing rough idling and an error in the memory, suspected to be due to an engine mount issue. Possible causes include a worn engine mount, a faulty connection, or a defective mounting bracket. Suggested solutions involve checking cable and plug connections and potentially visiting a workshop for a professional assessment and repair.

Thanks for the advice! I haven't noticed any unusual noises, but I'll definitely check the cable and plug connections as you suggested. Is it possible to inspect the mount itself for wear without taking everything apart?

You can visually inspect it, but it's not always easy to see the extent of the damage without some disassembly. To be certain of the engine mount's condition and avoid potential complications with the mounting bracket, I would suggest visiting a workshop. I ended up paying around 95€ for the repair, but it's best to have it professionally assessed.

Appreciate the tip about the workshop. I'll book it in this week and hopefully get it sorted. Cheers!

I had similar symptoms on my Palio. I'd check all the connections to the mounts first. Seems like a cable or plug connection of the component defective would cause this. Mount wear is also a possibility. It could be a defective engine mount, or even the mounting bracket itself has failed. Do you hear any unusual noises when the engine is running?
