Palisade cold start PTC heater issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Hyundai Palisade diesel is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, an error message, and increased fuel consumption. The issue may be linked to a faulty electric auxiliary heater, specifically the PTC heater, as indicated by colder-than-usual air from the climate control system. It is suggested to have a professional diagnosis to confirm the fault and proceed with necessary repairs.

Yes, precisely! The air is noticeably colder than it should be when the engine is cold. It takes a while for the cabin to reach a comfortable temperature. Considering the error code and higher fuel consumption, do you think it is indeed the PTC heater?

Given your description and my past experience, it certainly sounds like a defective PTC heater is the culprit. I strongly recommend having a workshop diagnose the electrical fault properly. I ended up spending around 350€ to resolve the heating issue.

I also own a Hyundai Palisade. Your symptoms sound familiar. I had similar issues: cold air blowing from the HVAC system initially, especially on chilly mornings. Eventually, there was a stored error code related to the heating element. Is the air from your climate control system colder than usual upon startup?
