Palisade Diesel Drift Compensation Error

I'm pulling my hair out here. I've got a 2019 Hyundai Palisade with a diesel engine that's throwing me for a loop. Approaching 100,400 km currently. The check engine light keeps popping on, and the engine's running rough. I pulled the codes, and it's showing an error related to "reset quantity drift compensation." Has anyone wrestled with this before? I am suspecting a defective injector valve. Could airflow sensors be a cause? I’m open to suggestions before I start throwing parts at it.

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Hyundai Palisade with a diesel engine is experiencing a "reset quantity drift compensation" error, causing rough engine performance and a check engine light. The suspected cause is a defective injector valve, though airflow sensors are also considered. A similar issue was resolved by replacing a faulty injector, and it's recommended to have the injectors tested by a specialized workshop to confirm the diagnosis and avoid unnecessary part replacements.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. I had a very similar issue with my Palisade. Same symptoms: rough running, check engine light, and that drift compensation code. Have you noticed any changes in fuel consumption or performance? Any recent work done on the engine, like performance tuning or anything like that?

Fuel consumption seems normal, and no recent work or performance tuning has been done. Just regular maintenance. When you say 'similar issue,' are you talking about a bad injector? Did you try any onboard diagnostics or a reset procedure before replacing anything?

Yeah, unfortunately, it turned out to be a faulty injector. I tried a few things, but honestly, those drift compensation errors can be tricky. Injectors can be tested, but it requires specialized equipment. In my experience, it’s worth taking it to a reputable workshop specializing in fuel injection systems. The diagnosis alone can save you time and money in the long run. Do you have anything to measure the back leakage of your injectors?

Thanks for confirming my fears! It's going into the shop. They've quoted me 515€ for the injector replacement, which seems reasonable. Hopefully, that'll be the end of it. Appreciate the insights!
