Palisade Diesel Fuel Filter Heater Issue

I own a 2020 Hyundai Palisade with a diesel engine and I've been experiencing some rather disconcerting issues lately. The car has done 98280 km. Specifically, I've been getting an error message, and I've noticed a significant reduction in engine power. The engine response is sluggish, and my fuel consumption has noticeably increased. To add insult to injury, the engine idles unevenly, almost like it wants to stall sometimes. It’s like the car is trying to tell me something is seriously wrong! I took it to a local mechanic, and they ran some diagnostics. The error memory points to a problem with the fuel filter heater. They suggested it might be a defective cable or plug connection. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about cars, but I'm worried this could lead to bigger problems down the road. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their Palisade? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Palisade. I have a Palisade too. I had a similar issue a while back with the fuel system. Reduced power and rough idling sound familiar. For me, it turned out to be a faulty connection somewhere in the fuel system's electricals. It's like a loose wire in a lamp, causing flickering and dimming. Have you checked the fuel filter and the connections around it? It might be something simple, but with these modern cars, who knows?

Thank you so much for your reply! It's reassuring to know I'm not alone in this. You mentioned checking the connections around the fuel filter. Could you perhaps elaborate a bit more on what I should be looking for specifically? I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I'm willing to give it a shot before taking it back to the mechanic.

Alright, I understand. Honestly, if you're not super comfortable with car stuff, I wouldn't dig too deep. I'd suggest taking your mechanic's initial diagnostic seriously, especially since they pointed to a cable or plug connection. Sometimes, it's best to leave these things to the professionals before you accidentally create another fault somewhere. I went to the workshop for my issue - it's safer.

I appreciate your advice. You're right, I think it's best to leave it to the professionals. I took it back to the shop, and they confirmed it was indeed a faulty connection with the fuel filter heater. They replaced the defective parts, and everything seems to be running smoothly again. The total repair cost was 95€. Thank you again for your support!
