Palisade Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Hyundai Palisade diesel exhibited issues such as a warning light, smoke during acceleration, and a non-regenerating DPF, suggesting a defective exhaust back pressure sensor. The error code confirmed the suspicion, and while initial checks of the sensor's wiring showed no damage, further testing was advised. Ultimately, replacing the sensor resolved the issues, clearing the error and restoring normal DPF function.

I did check the wiring superficially, but I didn't find any obvious damage. I read the error code with my OBD2 reader; it indicates a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor. Is there a more thorough test I can perform on the sensor itself before replacing it?

Given the error code and symptoms, a defective exhaust back pressure sensor does seem the most likely culprit. Further testing might require specialized equipment. Considering the DPF issue, I would recommend a workshop visit to get it professionally diagnosed and repaired to avoid further damage.

Thanks I suspected as much. I've replaced the sensor. The error is gone, and the DPF regenerates normally. The total repair was 245€. I appreciate the help.

That sounds concerning! Are you sure it's the exhaust back pressure sensor? Did you check the sensor's wiring for any obvious damage or corrosion? Also, what error code is the warning light displaying?
