Palisade immobilizer issue

I'm at my wit's end! My 2023 Hyundai Palisade diesel acts like the immobilizer is possessed! Sometimes it cranks but won't start. Other times, it starts for a split second and dies immediately. The error memory is full of immobilizer errors. I'm suspecting the key programming went haywire. Could that be the cause?

I had a similar experience with my Palisade. Does your remote start work? Mine completely stopped working around the same time the starting issues began. It could be a problem with the key signal being received by the anti-theft system.

Interesting! I didn't even think of the remote start. Now that you mention it, no, the remote start hasn't worked for a while. So, you reckon it's definitely a key/immobilizer issue then? How did you resolve it?

Based on your symptoms and the remote start failure, it points strongly to an immobilizer problem, possibly related to the key programming. I advise you to take it to a dealer or a workshop with Hyundai diagnostic tools, as they can recode the key if it has become desynchronized. It could solve the problem.

Just wanted to say thank you! I followed your advice and took it to the workshop. It turned out the key programming was indeed faulty. They recoded the key, and it's starting perfectly now, remote start and all! Cost me just 45€. Much appreciated!
