Summary of the thread
A 2021 Hyundai Palisade is experiencing issues with its automatic temperature control system, with diagnostics indicating an error and a non-functional AC. The problem is suspected to be a faulty cable or plug connected to the interior temperature sensor. Thanks, I visually checked the wiring harness and connector, but didn't see damage or corrosion. I need to look closer. Where was the temperature sensor in your Volvo XC60? That might help me find it in the Hyundai Palisade.

On my Volvo, the interior temperature sensor was in the dashboard, near the steering column. I had to remove some trim. But the location varies between manufacturers and models. Since you checked for damage, I'd check the Hyundai Palisade's service manual or a technician. Trying to fix it without the right info could make it worse. I took my Volvo to a shop after I failed. They found the issue and fixed it.

Thanks for the advice. I'll stop and see a technician. The repair was a new sensor cable, costing 95€.

I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The symptoms—erratic temperature and no AC—sound like a faulty connection to the interior temperature sensor. These sensors tell the climate control module the cabin temp, which adjusts the AC and heat. A bad connection can cause those symptoms. Did you check the wiring harness and connector to the sensor? A visual check can show damage or corrosion.
