Thanks for sharing that! Good to know I'm not alone with these annoying electrical gremlins. I'm thinking of going to the dealer too since they seem to know their stuff. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has everything been working perfectly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up?

Hey again! Glad I could help! After seeing your question, I wanted to let you know that since getting my Cayenne fixed at the dealer, everything's been working like a charm. The keyless entry system has been totally reliable, no more standing in the rain trying to get the doors to unlock, thank goodness! The total bill came to 170€, which included diagnosing the issue and fixing that faulty cable connection to the door handle electronics. Honestly, given how annoying the problem was, I'd say it was money well spent. Plus, they did a thorough job checking all the related systems to make sure there weren't any other potential issues lurking. I haven't noticed any other electrical quirks since the repair, it's been smooth sailing for about 8 months now. Definitely worth going to someone who knows what they're doing with these cars, especially with all the complex electronics in the hybrid models. Hope this helps with your decision! Let me know how it goes if you decide to get it fixed.

Update on my Panamera situation, everyone! Finally took it to the dealer last week after our chat here. You were right, it was definitely worth going to the experts! They found pretty much the same issue you had, moisture damage in the wiring harness. Cost me a bit more than yours though, around 220€, but they also found and fixed a loose connection in the trunk that could've caused problems later. Got it back yesterday and wow, what a difference! The keyless entry's working perfectly now, and those annoying flickering lights are history. The service team was super professional and even gave me a detailed walkthrough of what they did. Thanks again for pushing me to get it sorted at the dealer. Really glad I didn't try to cheap out with my old mechanic on this one. Feels great to have my Porsche back to its reliable self! Cheers!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2018 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid last summer. The symptoms were exactly like yours, unreliable keyless entry and flickering lights. Turned out it was indeed the cable connection to the door handle electronics that was causing all the trouble. Took it to my Porsche dealer's service center, and they found that moisture had gotten into the wiring harness, causing corrosion in the connections. It wasn't a major mechanical issue, but it definitely needed proper attention since it's connected to the car's security system. They had to replace some wiring and reseal the connections properly. The fix took about a day, and I haven't had any problems since then. This is the kind of issue that's better handled by someone who really knows Porsche's electrical systems, particularly for hybrids, since they have additional complexity in their electronics. Best to get it checked out soon before it potentially affects other electrical components.
