Panda start stop issue

Start-stop system not working on my 2013 Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet diesel. Error memory stores a fault, the engine shuts off intermittently at lights and a warning light illuminates. Could a discharged battery be the culprit?

Hey, I had something similar happen on my Panda. Does it feel like the engine is struggling to restart when it cuts out? Could very well be your battery on its way out.

Interesting. When you say 'similar,' do you mean the exact same symptoms? Did your engine cut out at inappropriate moments, as well?

Yep, pretty much the same. Start-stop packed up, and the engine would occasionally stall. I tried a few things, but in the end, bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They sorted it. Probably best if you do the same, if you are not so experienced.

Thanks for confirming. It's a relief to know I'm not alone. It sounds like a trip to the mechanic is in order. Turns out, as you suspected, it was indeed the battery and cost me 290€ to replace. Thanks a lot for your help!
