Panda Tailgate Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Fiat Panda diesel is experiencing a tailgate issue, with an error stored in the memory and the tailgate not opening completely. The problem is suspected to be related to a hall sensor fault, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue in a Fiat 500 was resolved by addressing a corroded plug connection near the tailgate motor. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked by a professional, which successfully resolved the issue in this case.

Interesting! No strange noises, but where exactly was the sensor wiring issue on your 500? Was it near the tailgate motor or closer to the control unit?

For me, it was definitely a corroded plug connection near the tailgate motor. Honestly, after checking everything, I ended up taking it to a workshop. Saved myself a headache. Looks like you should do the same.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop and they found a defective plug, just like you said. 95€ later and it's all sorted. Cheers!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Fiat 500. The automatic tailgate was acting up, and it turned out to be a sensor wiring problem. Was the tailgate motor making any strange noises?
