Thanks for the reply! The error code does point to a possible defective control unit related to the automatic transmission. So, it looks like the gearbox itself isn't defective? What was the solution for your Audi?

Yeah, in my case, the gearbox was fine mechanically. It was all the control unit sending incorrect signals. I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out by a workshop with experience in automatic transmissions. They can diagnose it properly. I ended up having to replace the control unit on my Audi.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I'll take it to a reputable workshop and have them check the control unit. Hopefully, it's just that and nothing major. I really appreciate the help. The mechanic has confirmed the error. The affected control unit is defective and needs to be replaced. The estimated repair cost will be around 1000€.

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Audi A4. Same symptoms – engine wouldn't start sometimes, check engine light, and the transmission felt off. Turned out to be a faulty control unit messing with the parking position signal. Does the error code specifically mention the control unit?
