Partner brake light failure

Hi, I've got a 2022 Peugeot Partner electric with 118375 km on the clock. I'm getting a 'brake light failure' error message in the infotainment system, and there's an error stored in the error memory. Naturally, the brake lights aren't working. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've checked the bulbs themselves, and they're fine.

I had something similar on my Partner. Turned out to be a bad brake light switch. Have you checked that? It's a common electrical issue in these cars. When you press the brake pedal, the switch is what activates the brake lights. If it's faulty, it won't send the signal.

Interesting. Where is the brake light switch located? I'm not super familiar with the electrical components under the dash.

It's usually located near the top of the brake pedal, under the dash. You'll probably have to contort yourself a bit to get to it. Honestly, if you're not comfortable working in that area, I'd suggest just taking it to a workshop. A faulty brake light switch explains the error, and the error message. Could also be a loose connector.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. It was the brake light switch, after all, probably knocked loose by my own clumsy foot. Reconnected it and cleared the error memory with an OBD2 dongle. All good now, and cost me 0€!
