Partner Camshaft Sensor Issue

My 2021 Peugeot Partner diesel is acting up. 272053 km on the clock. Starts rough, stalls sometimes at idle, and the check engine light is on. Could it be the camshaft sensor? Anyone else had this?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Peugeot Partner diesel with 272,053 km is experiencing rough starts, stalling at idle, and a check engine light. The issue may be related to the camshaft sensor, as indicated by error codes. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the encoder wheel on the camshaft, which improved vehicle performance. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected and repaired at a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had something similar happen with my Partner (though it's an older model). Rough starts and stalling... was your check engine light also on? I'm wondering if it's the same thing, did you check for error codes?

Yeah, the check engine light is on, and I'm getting a code related to the camshaft position. What was the cause with yours? Was it expensive to fix?

Sounds exactly like what happened to me! My mechanic said it was the encoder wheel on the camshaft. Is that something you could tackle yourself? Honestly, I just took mine to the workshop. Cost me around 695€, but at least it's running smoothly now.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I'll get it checked out at the workshop. Sounds like it's beyond my capabilities. Hopefully, it won't cost me too much!
