Partner Gearbox Emergency Mode

Help! My 2009 Peugeot Partner (gasoline engine) is acting up. The engine light is on, and sometimes the gearbox goes into emergency mode. It also slips gears and makes grinding noises. The error code points to the transmission oil temperature sensor. Could a low oil level really be the cause?

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Partner. Engine light, jerky shifting, the whole shebang. Have you checked the transmission oil level? That sensor going bad can mess things up.

Thanks! I haven't checked the oil level yet. Where exactly is the dipstick for the transmission fluid on these cars? And what kind of oil should I be using?

Honestly, checking the level on these can be a pain, and topping it up is even worse without the right tools. If you're not sure, I'd take it to a workshop. I ended up doing that and it saved me a lot of headaches and potential damage. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. Low oil and a faulty sensor. 365€ later, all fixed!
