Partner Intake Manifold Issues

My 2013 Peugeot Partner diesel (281936 km) is jerking during acceleration, the check engine light comes on, and engine power is diminished. It occasionally stalls at idle, runs rough, and has a strong exhaust smell. The diagnostic tool indicates a possible intake manifold problem. Could a leaking intake manifold due to scorching be the culprit? I fear a vacuum leak is causing havoc with the manifold pressure, leading to engine misfires. Has anyone else encountered similar difficulties?

I also have a Partner, and those symptoms sound very familiar. I had similar issues not long ago. Did the diagnostic tool specifically mention the intake manifold?

Indeed, the diagnostic tool indicated a fault related to the intake manifold. My primary concern revolves around the potential for scorching and subsequent leakage. Did your experience involve similar indications of a damaged or leaking manifold, perhaps leading to a vacuum leak and affecting manifold pressure? I'm trying to understand the precise nature of the problem before committing to what I suspect will be a costly repair.

Yes, it turned out to be a leaking intake manifold. Given the symptoms and error code, I'd strongly advise taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair. Continuing to drive it could cause further damage.

Thank you for your insightful advice and confirmation of my suspicions. I brought my Peugeot Partner to a trusted workshop. The mechanics confirmed the intake manifold was indeed defective and required replacement due to scorching and leaks. The final repair cost amounted to 1180€. Once again, I appreciate you sharing your experience and guiding me toward a resolution.
