Partner Overheating Bypass Valve Issue

My 2016 Peugeot Partner with a gasoline engine is acting up. The error memory shows a bypass valve malfunction, and the engine's overheating. I suspect it's a knock-on effect from something else. Has anyone else seen this?

Overheating is never good. When did you last check your vacuum system? A leak there can cause unexpected issues, including impacting the bypass valve.

Vacuum system, huh? I haven't checked for leaks recently. But with a vacuum leak, wouldn't I expect engine stalling or rough idling?

Stalling can happen with a vacuum leak, but it depends on the severity and location. The system is complex. The leak could be subtle enough not to cause stalling but still throw off the bypass valve, leading to overheating. I'd advise having a workshop check it.

Thanks! It WAS a small vacuum leak causing the bypass valve issue. The workshop sorted it, and it didn't cost me a cent! Apparently, it was covered under some warranty extension.
