Partner refuses to start

I'm having a nightmare with my 2023 Peugeot Partner (gasoline engine). I've done 185013 km and now it just refuses to start! The engine turns over, but it won't actually fire up. I'm getting a 'Engine control malfunction' warning. I've checked the obvious things like fuel and fuses, but no luck. Could it be some kind of ECU failure? Any ideas?

I had exactly the same issue with my Partner a while back. 'Engine control malfunction' message, wouldn't start. Have you checked your battery cable connections? Are they clean and tight?

Battery connections, huh? I hadn't thought of that! They looked okay at first glance, but I'll double-check them properly tomorrow. What exactly was wrong with yours? Was it just loose, or corroded, or what?

Yeah, mine looked okay too, but there was some hidden corrosion. Gave them a good clean and tightened them up, and she fired right up. Though, honestly, if that doesn't fix it, I'd take it to a workshop. ECU issues can be a real pain to diagnose yourself.

You were spot on! I cleaned the battery cable connections, and it started immediately. Turns out they weren't as good as I thought. Cost me 155€ at the workshop. Thanks so much for the advice!
