Partner Rough Idle Ignition Coil

My 2004 Peugeot Partner with a gasoline engine is running rough and sometimes stalls. The check engine light is on, and acceleration feels jerky. I've checked the spark plugs. Could this be an ignition coil problem? I read a defective cable or plug connection may cause this. Any thoughts?

I had a similar issue with my Partner. The rough idling, stalling, and jerking suggest an ignition system problem. Before replacing the coil, inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to it. A loose or corroded connection can mimic a failing coil.

Thanks! I gave the wires a quick look, but not closely. What should I be looking for? Any specific areas prone to issues on the Partner?

Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for corrosion, damage, or loose connections. It's also advisable to consult a qualified technician with diagnostic equipment to check the ignition system. My garage replaced the ignition coil, so check that. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I took it to a workshop as suggested. It was a defective ignition coil. Replacing it cost 95€, and now it runs great!
