I have not checked those components. If it is the thermostat, is there a specific type that these vehicles typically use? Is this something that needs immediate attention?

It does sound like it could be a defective map thermostat, which is common on these. Overheating can cause serious damage, so I recommend taking it to a workshop soon to prevent further problems.

Thank you for the advice. I will schedule a visit to a workshop to have the thermostat inspected. I appreciate your input.

Overheating and slow warm-up on a Pathfinder Hybrid? It might be. Has the cooling fan been checked? Also, is the water pump functioning correctly?
