Pathfinder Overheating Active Air Flap Fault

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, gasoline engine, with 70241 km mileage. The check engine light comes on, and I've noticed the engine seems to be overheating. I suspect it might be related to the active air flap. Has anyone else encountered this?

Hello, I also drive a Pathfinder, and have had similar experiences. Did you ever check the fault code? With me the overheating was also a problem. Does it happen often or in certain conditions?

Thank you for your reply. I did get the fault code read, and it points to an active air flap fault. As for the overheating, it seems to occur during city driving, especially in warmer weather. Do you think the air flap issue is the likely cause of this?

Yes, for me, the car overheating and the check engine were definitely because of the active air flap. At the end, the garage confirmed that the electromechanism was defective. I’d suggest having it checked out by a workshop; they'll be able to diagnose it properly.

I appreciate the insight. I will definitely take it to a trusted mechanic to get it properly inspected and repaired. From what I understand, the repair cost could reach around 590€. Thank you for sharing your experience; it's been very helpful.
