Pathfinder transmission slipping rough shifting

I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid. It has about 160,000 km on it. Sometimes it just won't start, and the check engine light comes on. Also, the transmission seems to be slipping and shifting really rough. I scanned it and got an error code, but I'm not sure what it means. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Pathfinder too, and I had similar problems last year. The gearbox was acting up, and sometimes it wouldn't even start. Have you checked the gear linkage? It might be a control unit issue.

Gear linkage? Control unit? I'm not really a car guy, so I'm not sure what that means. Is it something I can check myself, or should I take it to a mechanic?

Probably best to take it to a workshop. My issue turned out to be a defective control unit in the automatic transmission. It caused all sorts of weird problems, like the engine not starting and the transmission acting up. Better get it checked before it gets worse.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like that's probably the problem. I'll take it to a shop and have them check the transmission control unit. Hopefully, it's not too expensive to fix. The mechanic confirmed it was the control unit, and the repair cost me about 1000€. Appreciate the help!
