Patrol Fuel Filter Heater Error Codes

Hi, I've got a 2007 Nissan Patrol diesel with about 94000 km on the clock. I'm seeing some error codes related to the fuel filter heater. Getting reduced power, poor response, higher fuel consumption and a rough idle, especially when cold. Anyone else run into this?

I had similar symptoms on my Patrol. Check the fuel filter heater wiring and plug connection. Those Patrols are built like tanks, but the electrics can be a bit sensitive – a loose connection can cause all sorts of problems. Think of it like a loose spark plug wire on an old petrol engine; everything runs rough.

Thanks, that's helpful. By plug connection, do you mean the connector on the filter itself? Or somewhere further back in the wiring?

Yes, the connector on the filter, but trace the wires back a little way too. It's worth checking for any chafing or damage. If that all looks good, it might be the heater itself, but I'd get it checked by a workshop anyway. Mine turned out to be just a corroded pin in the connector, but chasing electrical gremlins can be a real pain.

Appreciate the advice. Turns out you were spot on - corroded connector on the filter. Cleaned it up and all good. Cost me 95€ at the workshop. Thanks!
