Persistent Transmission Code 00578E on BMW 3 Series at 165,000 Miles Despite Regular Maintenance

I have a BMW 3 Series with 165,000 miles on it. I've been encountering a persistent issue where the transmission code 00578E keeps appearing when I scan it, even though there's no transmission dash light. The code is supposedly for worn oil. Despite changing the transmission oil multiple times, performing occasional drain and fills, and even dropping the pan, changing the filter, cleaning the magnet, and using new fluid, the code still persists. I use high-quality full synthetic Amsoil ATF and the car's performance is still excellent. However, I can't seem to clear this code with my Carly scanner. Can anyone provide advice on how to clear this code?

Summary of the thread

A BMW 3 Series owner is experiencing a persistent transmission code 00578E, indicating worn oil, despite regular maintenance including multiple oil changes and using high-quality synthetic fluid. The code remains even after attempts to clear it with a Carly scanner, which has successfully handled other diagnostics and customizations. Suggestions include verifying the scanner's compatibility, ensuring software updates, and considering professional diagnostics to check for potential issues with the transmission control module or sensors. Carly Support is also available for further assistance.

Check if your Carly scanner is fully compatible with your BMW model and capable of clearing transmission codes. If it is, try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes to reset the system, then reconnect and see if the code clears. If the issue persists, it might be worth having a professional mechanic with a more advanced diagnostic tool take a look. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!

I seem to think its compatible because it shows the code and says “clear code” but it never goes away. Ive reset the battery and cleared the code many times and still nothing. How can I know fersure if its compatible?

Double-check the Carly scanner's compatibility list for your specific BMW model and year. If it's compatible, ensure the software is up-to-date. If the code still won't clear, it might indicate an underlying issue with the transmission control module or sensors. Consider having a professional mechanic perform a more thorough diagnostic. Ive dug all around the website, where exactly do I find that list? I have the universal scanner and I have the full package membership, everything up to date. The scanner has done everything else for me, cleared tons of other issues, customized some of the coding, registered my new battery. It’s just a basic 2009 328i. Is there a reason why it can do all that but somehow not compatible with the transmission?
