Peugeot 1007 Electronic Parking Brake Failure

I'm having issues with my 2007 Peugeot 1007, gasoline engine. The electronic parking brake is completely non-functional. The error memory has a fault stored, and the warning light is on. I suspect the electric motor in the brake calliper is defective. Has anyone else run into this?

I had a similar problem with my 1007. Are you sure it's the motor itself? Usually, it's just a corroded connector or a broken wire leading to the calliper. Have you checked those first?

Thanks for the tip. I did check the wiring harness as far as I could see. The connectors seemed okay, but I didn’t do a proper continuity test. Was your issue exactly the same symptoms-wise? And did it resolve after fixing the wiring?

Yeah, exact same symptoms. Warning light, error code, bricked handbrake. Cleaning the connector pins didn't do anything, so I ended up going to a workshop since I don't have the equipment to diagnose it further. They replaced the calliper, and that fixed it.

Okay, thanks for confirming. I think I'll take it to a workshop as well. I was hoping to avoid the cost, which looks like about 505€, but vehicle safety is paramount.
