Peugeot 1007 engine power loss

I'm having an issue with my 2006 diesel Peugeot 1007. It has 115154 km. I've noticed a significant reduction in engine power, and diagnostics show an error in the error memory related to the engine control unit. Could a defective main relay be the cause?

Think of it like a light switch controlling the brain. If the switch is faulty, the brain doesn't get the power it needs to work right. Get it checked at a workshop.

I took it to a workshop, and the main relay was defective. Replacing it, plus labor, cost 120€. The engine power has returned to normal, and the error is gone. Thanks for your help.
